About & Health Note

What ProteinPlate is

ProteinPlate is a free, open guide built by analysing dozens of real, home-cooked Indian meals and distilling them into one repeatable template. It is general food and wellness information — not medical or dietetic advice.

An honest health note

  • Your real targets are personal. A safe calorie deficit and protein target depend on your age, weight, activity, and any medical conditions. A registered dietitian can set these precisely.
  • High protein + specific conditions: very high protein needs caution with kidney disease; people with diabetes should monitor how legumes and carbs affect their glucose.
  • Balanced, not extreme. This style of eating — varied vegetables, lean protein, fibre, healthy fats, minimal sugar and refined carbs — is genuinely good. Keep it sustainable rather than punishing.
  • Keep a human in the loop. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before starting keto or a steep calorie cut.

The numbers

Grams and calories throughout the site are reasonable estimates for planning, read from photographs and standard food values. They are not laboratory-measured. Treat them as a starting point, not a prescription.
